First Choice Emergency Room Hosts Community Event at Kingwood Facility

The Whambulance and Local Businesses Gather for Neighborhood Event

Lewisville, TX (PRWeb) May 14, 2013 –First Choice Emergency Room, the leading freestanding emergency room system in the United States, will host a street party at their Kingwood facility on Saturday, May 18^th from 11am-2pm to celebrate the local community that the facility has served for the past year.

During the event, the Whambulance will be parked outside the facility and attendees are welcome to take pictures with the converted 2005 Chevy Ambulance.  The first 100 kids will receive a free McDonald’s Happy Meal and MyFit Foods will provide samples. Twyla’s Friends will also be in attendance with pets available for adoption. There will also be local entertainment and a bounce house.

“This family friendly event is a great opportunity for us to remind the local community of the top notch emergency medical care First Choice ER provides,” said Dr. David Carlyle, Facility Medical Director of First Choice Emergency Room’s Kingwood Facility.

Two of Houston’s leading radio stations will also be on site giving away prizes and concert tickets. From 11am-1pm Mix 96.5 will be there and from 12pm to 2pm KRBE 104.1 will be at the Kingwood facility.

First Choice Emergency Room Supports Austin Running Race

FCER Provides Medical Support During Back on My Feet in24 Race Challenge

Lewisville, TX (PRWeb) May 10, 2013 – First Choice Emergency Room teamed up with Back on My Feet to support their in24 Austin Race Challenge on May 11th and 12th. Throughout the weekend, individuals and teams will compete in a variety of races along a 5-mile loop near Camp Mabry, Texas. First Choice ER nurses and board-certified emergency physicians will be on-site to provide medical support throughout the weekend festivities.

Back on my Feet works to help those dealing with homelessness become self-sufficient. The non-profit creates running teams consisting of Residential Members (those experiencing homelessness) and Non-Residential Members (community volunteers) and uses lessons learned from running to help members move toward employment and more permanent housing.
“We are looking forward to a great weekend supporting these athletes as they run to raise money and awareness for Back on My Feet,” said Dr. Stephen Van Roekel, Facility Medical Director of First Choice Emergency Room’s Austin Arboretum location.

First Choice Emergency Room Names Dr. Dorothy Lemecha Medical Director for the Spring Facility

Dr. Dorothy Lemecha Welcomed to her New Role

Lewisville, TX (PRWeb) May 1, 2013 – First Choice Emergency Room, the leading freestanding emergency room system in the United States, announced Dorothy Lemecha, DO as the new Facility Medical Director for the Spring facility.

Dr. Lemecha received her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Osteopathy from Michigan State University. She completed her emergency medicine residency at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. While she was an emergency medicine resident, Dr. Lemecha became a flight physician for Life Flight and was introduction to the growing field of disaster preparedness and tactical medicine. Dr. Lemecha joined the First Choice Emergency Room team in 2012. She also is a Clinical Assistant Professor for the Baylor College of Medicine.

“I am pleased to announce Dr. Lemecha as the new facility medical director of our Spring facility.
