Review your EOBs, Explanation of Benefits, from your insurance company. Quite often they request information from you such as accident details or Coordination of Benefits, COB. COB is a request from your insurance company to find out if you have any other insurance coverage. Most of the time, you can simply call your insurance company and give the requested information over the phone. However, until you provide them with the requested information, the claims will not be processed and will be your responsibility.
Be familiar with your benefits. Take the time to review your insurance policy, find out if you have deductibles, coinsurance or anything else that might fall under your responsibility. This knowledge will help you to make educated decisions in seeking medical care.

"Thank you for taking care of my husband. He was hit hard in the head by a piece of heavy equipment and was in very poor shape cognitively when he arrived. I'd never even noticed your facility sitting there...but will never forget it now. As an ER "Frequent Flyer" myself, I was SO impressed with this facility I haven't stopped telling people. I hope you have plans to open more such in my area. From the front desk to the doctor the treatment and care was top notch."
