Dr. Chiang grew up in Southern California and graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. Dr. Chiang is Board-Certified and completed his post-graduate Residency Training from the David Geffen-UCLA School of Medicine in Los Angeles, California. He has engaged in the full time practice of Emergency Medicine for over 15 years, and is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians. Before becoming the Facility Medical Director for FCER at Murphy, Dr. Chiang was the Chief of Emergency Medicine at The Heart Hospital at Baylor Plano, and was responsible for implementing the STEMI (heart attack) protocol there. He also was the doctor in charge of getting The Heart Hospital at Baylor Heart Plano Certified as a Chest Pain Center by the American Society of Chest Pain Centers, and served as a member of the ED Council for The Baylor Health Care System. The Heart Hospital at Baylor Plano remains as the highest-ranking facility in patient-satisfaction among all other hospitals in the Baylor Health Care System. Under the leadership of Dr. Chiang and his passion for patient-centered services, The Heart Hospital at Baylor Plano attained a status very few hospitals are able to achieve by winning the prestigious Press-Ganey’s Beacon of Excellence Award and The Guardian of Excellence Award. These awards are only given to EDs that have consistently achieved the highest patient satisfaction ratings among all emergency departments in the nation. Dr. Chiang resides in Collin County with his wife and two daughters: age 3 and 9.
